So far, Tollywood has mostly seen the releases of pan-Indian movies, and other mid to low range movies. The results turned out to be very mixed, with RRR turning out to be a blockbuster, while Radhe Shyam turned out to be a disappointment. As for the other films, audiences barely noticed them in the theatres. with the exception of Bheemla Nayak.
Acharya and Sarkaru Vaari Paata remained the only two movies carrying any buzz at all. Acharya has been released today, and the film isn’t doing very well at the box office, with audiences and fans upset with the film. This has now left SVP as possibly the only hope for Tollywood to turn things around this year, in terms of the results of big movies.
There’s a decent buzz surrounding SVP, and Mahesh looks ultra-stylish in the film. However, there are enough set of doubts surrounding the film’s fate, and it is now to be seen, on May 12th, whether or not the film will be able to turn the tables around for Tollywood.
