Can Hanuman Surpass Kantara and Pushpa in Hindi?

Hanuman, the latest Indian superhero film, soared globally, shattering box office records, but the Hindi markets present a challenge. Despite opening with a respectable 2Cr+ Net, the film fell short of the enormous pre-release expectations in the Northern region.

The anticipation was for a staggering 100Cr+ Net, aiming to surpass hits like Pushpa and Baahubali Part 1. Currently standing at 36Cr Net in Hindi, Hanuman struggles to take substantial leaps needed to breach the coveted 100Cr milestone. Kantara’s closing stands at 85Cr Net, and Pushpa is nearing 110Cr Net, making the climb even steeper.

Complicating matters, Hrithik Roshan‘s Fighter hits screens this weekend, posing a further challenge. The industry anticipates Hanuman closing in the 55–60Cr range, falling short of Kantara and Pushpa. The fate of Hanuman’s Hindi version hinges on its long-term performance and the impact of Fighter’s word of mouth.

As the film strives to secure a lasting presence, the industry awaits whether it will settle within the projected range or, through an extended run, surpass contenders like Kantara and Pushpa. The unfolding weeks will unveil the final chapter of Hanuman’s journey in the competitive Hindi markets.
