The first half of November was slow for Tollywood, with no major hits. Films like Mass Jathara, Jatadhara, and Kaantha are impressive, but the collections disappointed.
Rashmika Mandanna’s The Girlfriend earned decent money but didn’t reach the expected box office numbers. As a result the Telugu film industry is going through a dull phase, with only a few small movies releasing this Friday.
Ram Pothineni’s Andhra King Taluka is the only notable release before Akhanda 2 and Biker. The makers have now locked November 27th as the release date, a day earlier than planned, giving the film an 8-day free run to earn well.
Since Akhanda 2 has huge hype, Ram’s movie must get strong word of mouth to sustain. After back-to-back flops, Andhra King Taluka is a crucial film for him.
With promising teasers, hit songs, and strong supporting actors, Ram is confident of making a comeback with this emotional mass drama directed by P. Mahesh Babu.
And the countdown begins
