Despite the recent failures of mythology-based films like Shaakuntalam and Adipurush, there’s no shortage of determination among producers and directors to create more such movies. Madhu Manthena, a Bollywood filmmaker, is gearing up to craft a three-part Ramayana film, with Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and possibly KGF Yash in prominent roles.
However, Alia Bhatt’s rejection of the role of Sita has left many puzzled. Her busy schedule seems to be the main reason for declining the offer. Despite efforts from directors Niteesh Tiwari and Ravi Udyavar, Alia remains unavailable to adjust her commitments for Ramayana.
Similarly, Yash is also showing less enthusiasm for the project. The makers are intent on creating a visually impressive film, avoiding the mistakes that plagued Adipurush. Their ambition involves utilizing substantial funds for authentic visual effects rather than relying solely on motion capture technology.
With Alia Bhatt out of the picture, the filmmakers are exploring options like Mrunal Thakur and Kiara Advani for the Sita role. Despite setbacks, the team is determined to bring a grand Ramayana to the screen, hoping to learn from the past and create a successful mythological epic.
