Superstar Rajinikanth recently spent some time in the USA, getting his health checked up. Post that, he recently returned to Chennai, and the actor is said to be finalising details of his next films. Rajini’s Annatthe, directed by Siva, and featuring an ensemble cast of Nayanthara, Khushboo, Meena, Keerthy Suresh and others, wrapped up a few weeks ago and is scheduled for release this year.
Rajini is now said to join hands with director Desingh Periyasamy, of Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal fame, for his next film, which is to be bankrolled by AGS Entertainment. The official announcement of this film hasn’t yet been made and is expected to be made very soon. This film would be Rajini’s 169th film, and there’s an interesting buzz surrounding Rajini’s 170th film.
It is being said that Rajini is going to collaborate with his son in law, Dhanush, for his 170th film. Dhanush already proved that he is a more than capable director, with his debut directorial venture, Pa Paandi, which turned out to be a good success. Dhanush and Rajni haven’t collaborated on-screen or off-screen so far, which would make this a highly interesting combination, one that would excite fans and audiences to the very peaks, if it turns out to be true.
