For the past few years, digital giant Netflix has been focusing on the South cinema and producing content for subscribers. Earlier, the streaming platform had remade the Hindi anthology, Lust Stories in Telugu as Pitta Kathalu. Recently, Netflix collaborated with senior Kollywood filmmaker Mani Ratnam and bankrolled a nine-episode anthology titled, Navarasa.
Now, the latest buzz circulating among the Telugu media circles is that Netflix management is gearing up to make a web film in the combination of senior actor Venkatesh and his brother Suresh Babu’s son Rana Daggubati. Grapevine is also that Suresh Babu’s Suresh Productions will also be a part of the project. However, an official confirmation regarding the same is awaited.
It is well-known that the streaming rights of Rana’s upcoming film, Virata Parvam are snapped by Netflix. Will the film have its theatrical release first or opt for direct to digital streaming is yet to be out.
