Allu Arjun’s Pushpa: The Rise, which was released last year, turned out to be a massive pan-Indian hit, taking over the Northern belt by a storm. This was despite any promotions at all for the Hindi version, which received a cold release.
The film also performed well in other parts of South India, apart from the Telugu states, making it a huge pan-Indian success. Directed by Sukumar, the first part of the duology focused on Pushpa Raj’s rise to power and ended with the conflict between Allu Arjun and Fahadh Faasil’s characters. The second film is expected to build on this conflict and result in a resolution at the end.
Sources have now revealed that the budget for the second part of the film, Pushpa: The Rule, has been increased to Rs. 400 Crores, due to the success of the first part. The film is currently scheduled to release in the Summer of next year, and the shooting is expected to begin in either June or July.
