Just one day before the release of Powerstar Pawan Kalyan’s comeback film, Vakeel Saab, the Andhra Pradesh government led by Jaganmohan Reddy issued a GO stating that the ticket price for movies has been segregated based on Nagar Panchayat, Municipality area, Grama Panchayat area, and Municipal corporation area.
As per the GO, the ticket prices per the above-mentioned areas should not exceed the government fixed ticket price. Though the government has not mentioned the main motive behind fixing nominal ticket prices, it is an open secret that the GO was passed by keeping in mind the release of Jagan’s political rivalry Pawan Kalyan’s Vakeel Saab’s release.
In public concern, the above GO is helpful as it has no scope to hike the ticket prices during any big movie release. But in business terms, the government-mentioned rates will not be useful for the buyers in this contemporary time, and is an impossible task for them to be in film trading if the same continues.
The sad part of the above story is that even after knowing the fact, non of the Telugu film industry person responded to it. Even industry bigwigs like Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna, Mahesh Babu, Mohan Babu among others, who are known for praising Jagan with the hashtag ” Thank You CM” frequently are not in a mood to bother about the price difference in the ticket rates.
While a few buyers are openly criticizing the so-called stars as puppet batch for Jagan, a few others opinions that the stars, who have been meeting Jagan for their own benefits on regular basis are fearing to respond to the Jagan government’s rude decision.
As the issue is not about Pawan Kalyan’s film, many film distributors and exhibitors are expecting an appropriate take by the filmmakers and actors in the film industry on this disgusting approach by Jagan Reddy’s government very soon.
