Bromance is a Malayalam comedy film starring Arjun Ashokan, Sangeeth Prathap, Mathew Thomas, Shyam Mohan, and Mahima Nambiar. It promises a fun-filled ride with friendship and humor at its core.

Bromance Review

Bromance Movie Story: In Bromance, Binto (Mathew Varghese) enjoys a party until he learns from Shabbir (Arjun Ashokan) that his brother Shinto (Shyam Mohan) is missing. With the help of Shinto’s ex-girlfriend Aishu (Mahima Nambiar), a courier guy, and Hariharasudhan (Sangeeth Prathap), Binto embarks on a journey to find his brother, facing challenges along the way.

Performances: Mathew Thomas shines with his hilarious comedy timing as a young man with anger issues. Arjun Ashokan’s character stood out more than his timing. Sangeeth Prathap’s comedy worked well, while Mahima Nambiar added glamour. Kalabhavan Shajohn brought some mass appeal. Shyam Mohan’s role as Shinto, though central, lacked depth and could have been more developed.

Technical Aspects: Until now, we’ve only heard Govind Vasanth’s classic and love beats, but in this film, his Western fusion beats show that he can be explored in a new direction. Akhil George, known for his work in films like Forensic, Kaal, 2018, and Identity, does a remarkable job with the cinematography.

Though the camera frames don’t stand out in an extraordinary way, he captures the film in a trendy and vibrant style. The climax fight sequence is well shot. Arun D. Jos, a comedy specialist in Kerala, excels in his strength zone, leading Bromance with humor. The portrayal of modern relationships, breakups, and tech-based elements was handled well.

The way humor is created through the characters and small scenarios adds interest. However, the comedy track and fight sequences, which seem unnecessary to the story, can be a bit annoying. Overall, though, the film keeps the audience engaged.

Analysis: In a comedy film, no matter how much logic is disregarded, it becomes a problem if the scenes and characters lack clarity about their purpose. If we overlook these minus points, Bromance can be enjoyed as a fun time-pass, especially for streaming on OTT.

Verdict: Bromance is a light-hearted comedy that offers a fun time-pass experience, despite some unclear scenes and unnecessary elements. While the film lacks depth in certain areas, it’s an engaging watch on OTT, especially for those looking for humor and modern relationship dynamics. Overall, it delivers entertainment but with a few flaws.

Bottom Line: Fun, light-hearted, entertaining, time-pass comedy.

Rating: 2.5/5
