There have been many times when the success of a particular genre of film was tried to be replicated in Tollywood. The same thing seems to be happening yet again, with fresh reports of Boyapati Srinu’s film with Allu Arjun. The film is yet to be announced officially, but several reports of the film’s story are being spread around.
It is being said that the film is going to be set in the pre-Independence era, thus resulting in a periodic drama. Bunny is said to have given his nod for the subject matter as well, and the film is going to be produced under the Geetha Arts banner. It is important to note that director Rajamouli is bringing back the pre-Independence era to the audiences with much pomp, with his upcoming film RRR.
If RRR turns out to be a massive hit, like it is very much expected to, every filmmaker would want to attempt something very similar. Given that Boyapati has delivered a grand success with Akhanda recently, and that Bunny previously impressed the audiences in a periodic avatar in Rudramadevi, where he was seen as Gona Ganna Reddy, it is going to be interesting to see Boyapati and Bunny try their luck with a periodic subject.
