This past weekend turned out to be a disappointment for Tollywood as none of the new releases managed to draw audiences to the theaters. Among them, Eagle stood out slightly better with decent late-evening showings, but it couldn’t sustain a stronghold throughout.
Despite starting modestly, Eagle struggled to maintain momentum, especially during early shows. Although the makers expressed satisfaction with its performance, it couldn’t fully capitalize on its potential.
Yatra 2 faced a rocky start, relying heavily on support from YCP cadres initially, only to plummet on the second day due to a lack of interest from the general audience. Dubbed films True Lover and Rajinikanth’s Lal Salaam vanished without leaving a mark, struggling to even cover their promotional and release costs.
Overall, the weekend witnessed a lackluster performance across the box office board, with none of the films gaining significant traction at the box office. This indicates a tough period for Tollywood, where new releases failed to resonate positively with audiences, resulting in a disappointing turnout and financial returns for filmmakers and distributors alike.
