The upcoming release “Family Star” starring Vijay Deverakonda and Mrunal Thakur is facing unexpected challenges despite a grand pre-release event and a confident team. This news comes as a shock to both the team and the audience, especially considering Deverakonda’s track record of successful openings.
The film, directed by Parasuram of “Geetha Govindam” fame, was anticipated to perform well. However, advance bookings paint a different picture. In Hyderabad, bookings are only at 71 Lakhs, significantly lower than Deverakonda’s previous hits like “Liger” and “Kushi.” Even in the U.S., advance bookings are lackluster compared to his earlier films.
The lukewarm response to “Family Star” can be attributed to a lack of buzz surrounding its trailer and songs. Meanwhile, another film, “Tillu Square,” has garnered significant attention and is on track to grossing 100 crores by the weekend, indicating a tough competition for “Family Star.”
