December, typically considered an off-season for film releases, is defying expectations this year as a wave of highly anticipated movies prepares to hit the screens. Notable releases include Ranbir Kapoor’s “Animal,” Prabhas’ “Salaar,” and Shah Rukh Khan’s “Dunki,” collectively representing a staggering worldwide theatrical investment of approximately Rs 1000 crores.
The South Indian film industry, especially Tollywood, is also gearing up for a December bonanza. A lineup featuring popular actors like Nani, Varun Tej, Nithiin, and Vishwak Sen adds to the cinematic excitement. Nani’s “Hi Nanna” is set for release on December 7th, followed by Varun Tej’s bilingual film “Operation Valentine” on December 8th, catering to both Hindi and Telugu audiences.
Nithiin’s “Extra Ordinary Man” is another highlight slated for the same release date, contributing to the diverse cinematic offerings this December. Additionally, Vishwak Sen’s “Gangs of Godavari” is expected to add its own flavor to the mix later in the month.
The cumulative investment in these December releases, spanning multiple languages and territories, is estimated to reach close to Rs 1000 crores, reflecting the industry’s confidence in the potential success of these ventures during what is traditionally considered a quieter period for cinema.
