Bollywood stars Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt starrer Brahmastra had a simultaneous release in Telugu and Tamil along with Hindi on September 9th. Opened to mixed reports, the film generated solid revenues in Telugu during the first week and ended up as a double blockbuster here.
On the other hand, Brahmastra failed miserably to mint minimum revenues at the Tamil box office. Reportedly, this graphical film collected more than Rs 250 crore (nett) at ticket windows in the North belt and emerged as a hit.
Meanwhile, the latest reports coming in from a few Bollywood portals is that Brahmastra witnessed close to forty percent losses in the North belt. The makers are tight-lipped on the ongoing confusion on the film collections. Surprisingly, the film producer Karan Johar quit social media recently without mentioning any strong reason.
Directed by Ayan Mukherjee, Brahmastra is earlier planned as a trilogy fantasy drama. If losses news for the first part is to be believed, it needs to be seen if the makers continue to make the second and third parts or not.
