Bollywood: Omicron threat for Akshay Kumar’s next

Not many are aware that Bollywood star Akshay Kumar’s period war drama, Prithviraj is scheduled for a Republic Day weekend release. Being directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi, the film marks the silver screen debut for Miss World 2017 pageant, Manushi Chhillar.

Meanwhile, the latest reports from Bollywood indicate that the makers of Prithviraj have taken a decision to postpone the film’s release indefinitely. Reportedly, the outbreak of the Omicron variant and the sudden spike in the covid cases is the prime reason behind the film’s postponement.

Being bankrolled by Aditya Chopra under Yash Raj Films banner, the film is a biopic on fearless King Prithviraj Chauhan and his battel against Muhammad of Ghor.
