It is widely known that ace director SS Rajamouli presented the Telugu version of Bollywood biggie, Brahmastra. Not stopping there he even went extra miles and participating in the film’s promotional events.
Looks like the Rajamouli factor has worked wonders for Brahmastra in twin Telugu states. As per the trade reports, the film has emerged as a blockbuster at Telugu box office. To date, the film has collected Rs 20 crore gross and is on track to emerge as the highest grosser among Hindi dubbed films by overtaking Rs 25 crore milestone set by Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati a few years back.
Meanwhile, the latest buzz among a section of Bollywood media is that Rajamouli was paid Rs 10 crore to promote Brahmastra in Telugu and other Southern states. If the news is to be believed, Rajamouli’s name even worked well for Brahmastra by overtaking the online Boycott trend in the North belt also and the amount paid to the India’s biggest director is quite less compared to the revenues the film has been generating at the ticket windows. To date, Brahmastra has collected more than Rs 150 crore nett at the domestic box office including all languages.
