Bloody Mary Movie Review and Rating!

Reputed OTT platform Aha’s original film, Bloody Mary starring Nivetha Pethuraj in the lead role is out for streaming on April 15th. Let’s see how it fares.

Story: Mary( Nivetha Pethuraj), a nurse in a hospital who is also an orphan will be living in a small apartment along with her childhood friends Basha and Raju( roles played by Kiriti Damaraju and Rajkumar Kasireddy ). When the hospital doctor tries to misbehave with her, Mary accidentally kills him. Parallelly, her friend Basha, who is an aspiring actor sees a murder committed by the area Circle Inspector ( Ajay). What will the further circumstances lead to? How will Mary handle the situation? Who is Mary? What is her actual identity? To know that, you have to watch this web-film.

Performances: Actress Nivetha Pethuraj gave a good performance as a lady with big dreams in life. Her screen presence and performance during the key episodes bring depth to the proceedings. As the film runs from her character’s point of view, Nivetha Pethuraj nailed it with her settled performance.

Rajkumar and Kiriti Damaraju did a fine job in the given purposeful roles. Actor Ajay gets good screen space in the movie as an aggressive cop and did his part perfectly.

Brahmaji did a negative shaded role and the versatile actor is convincing in his role. Other artists who played supporting roles are okay with their performances.

Technicalities: Background music Kala Bhairava is apt for the film’s genre and elevates the mood of the film nicely. The photography work by Karthik Ghattamaneni is good as the film has been presented on a convincing note by using good framing and lighting setup.

The editing work by Viplav Nyshadam is slick as the film is straight to the point without any unwanted diversions. The runtime is also a plus point for the film.

Production values for this limited budget film by People’s Media Factory banner are good.

Analysis: Noted director Chandoo Mondeti directs Bloody Mary. The director’s idea of making an intense thriller by taking a social cause as the key aspect is good and executed the concept on a gripping note. The cat and mouse game between Mary and a cop is showcased nicely without any over the top narration.

To summerize, Bloody Mary is a thriller that has racy narration without any unwanted built-up shots and makes the viewers hooked to the narration throughout. The ending portions indicate a sequel to the film.
