Blockbuster Boosts Nayanthara’s Career Again

Nayanthara known as the “Lady Superstar”, has held a unique position in Indian cinema with several solo hits in Tamil films. However, in recent years, her career saw a slowdown with fewer releases and no major Tamil projects.

Top stars did not cast her and Darbar (2020) remained her last big Tamil film. Though her Bollywood debut Jawan (2023) with Shah Rukh Khan became a huge success it was followed by a quiet phase.

Amid this Nayanthara signed Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu. She was initially hesitant due to remuneration issues and her role was almost dropped.

Director Anil Ravipudi later said the strong script and the chance to act again with Chiranjeevi and Venkatesh convinced her.

The film became a blockbuster proving her star power once again and opening doors to more big Telugu projects.
