Tajdar Amrohi, son of legendary filmmaker Kamal Amrohi, has revealed that Kiara Advani is likely to portray his mother, Meena Kumari, in an upcoming biopic.
Though not officially signed, Kiara is the top choice for the role. The film, titled Kamal Aur Meena, will be directed by Siddharth P Malhotra, who also confirmed that she is being considered.
Siddharth stated, “I’ll finalize the casting in August. Right now, I’m heading to the USA for a month. It’s easier to cast Meena Kumari ji, but finding the right actor for Kamal Amrohi saab is more challenging. I’ll lock Meena ji’s role only after casting Kamal”.
He described the film as a romantic tribute to the legendary couple. “Kamal Aur Meena is my Romeo and Juliet, a love story between Indian cinema’s most iconic director and actress duo”, said Malhotra.
The film promises to be a grand tribute to their timeless love.
