Biggest Piracy Crackdown: Details From Commissioner Sajjanar

Hyderabad Police Commissioner Sajjanar shared key details after arresting Ravi, the man running the piracy website iBomma. He said Ravi had over 35 bank accounts, all identified by the police.

A large operation was conducted to catch him. Sajjanar revealed that Ravi managed a big piracy network through Telegram and even promoted betting apps, causing huge financial losses to the public.

He also collected private data from lakhs of users. The Commissioner warned people not to visit piracy sites as they are unsafe. Ravi had the information of nearly 50 lakh subscribers who watched illegal content.

Sajjanar added that a big cyber-crime group is involved behind these websites. Ravi, a citizen of Saint Kitts and Nevis, was operating from abroad. He entered India via France, and police tracked him down.

He handled 65 mirror sites and stored over 21,000 movies. He earned more than Rs. 20 crores. Police seized Rs. 3 crores and found he used fake identities. Prominent Tollywood stars also met the Commissioner after the arrest.
