Rajamouli‘s next big film Varanasi is progressing at a steady pace with most of the shoot already completed.
During his visit to the Annecy International Animation Film Festival in France the director revealed that the major IMAX action sequences have been wrapped up without fail.
Only a few important connecting scenes remain before the team moves into post-production. Starring Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra and Prithviraj Sukumaran, Varanasi is Rajamouli’s biggest project to date.
It is also the first Indian film to be shot entirely in the premium IMAX format. The movie blends mythology, action and fantasy across multiple timelines and countries in a great way.
Produced by KL Narayana and the film is scheduled for a grand worldwide release on April 7th 2027, with shooting expected to finish before October.
