Amitabh Bachchan has, at last, explained why he always welcomes his fans barefoot on Sundays.
Megastar Amitabh Bachchan has revealed why he welcomes his devoted followers who visit his residence every Sunday with bare feet.
Amitabh posted a series of images of himself welcoming his admirers outside his house on his blog. In response to the summertime heat, he also posted images of drinking water set out outside for his admirer.
He wrote: “.. I felt they wait for hours in this sweltering heat, so to provide them drinking water with lime to quench their thirst .. 4 containers, 2 on either side of the gate .. over and above the ‘matka’ that is permanently there during the day and night.”
The celebrity then explained why he always welcomes his followers with bare feet, referring to them as his extended family.
“.. some sarcastically commented on a few occasions .. “who goes out wearing socks and bare feet. I say ..’I DO’ ! .. you got a problem with that !!?? You go to the temple bare feet .. my well-wishers are my temple !!”
It’s interesting to note that Big “warned” his supporters in the first week of May 2023 that he would “certainly not” walk to his home’s gates to greet them and requested them not to come and meet him. Amitabh, who often greets his admirers as part of a Sunday ritual outside his home, announced at the time that he would be unable to attend because of work responsibilities the next day.
Sr. Bachchan wrote in his blog, “Going certainly not for the GATE at JALSA tomorrow, for. there is work on a location that can only be given permission for on a Sunday. There shall be an effort of course to return in time for the 5:45 pm at Jalsa .. but there could be a delay or a non-appearance.. so a warning in advance to keep away…”
