Vijay Antony’s Bichagadu 2 is carrying good expectations among the audience as the 2016 film, Bichagadu went on to become a surprise blockbuster at the ticket windows. Directed by Vijay Antony himself, the film has hit the screens today. Let’s see how it fares.

Story: Vijay Gurumurthy( Vijay Antony) is a rich guy, who has a look-alike of Satya, a poor beggar. To Vijay, his friends decide Vijay’s brain transplanted by Satya’s brain. As a twist, things get more complicated for the friends as Satya has his own goals and aspirations. What are hidden goals? What happens further, forms crucial crux of the film.

Performances: Vijay Antony is okay with his subtle acting. He did a decent job in the given role and tried to emotes expression nicely. His acting in the emotional scenes is good and bring depth to the proceedings. Vijay Antony perfectly fitted in given role and literally carried by Vijay Antony on his shoulders. He showcased nice difference between the two roles he portrayed.

The child artists who played the crucial roles in the movie are amazing in their limited roles. Kavya Thapar is okay with her acting in her purposeful role. Other actors such as Hareesh Peradi, and John Vijay are fine in their respective roles.

Technicalities: Music composed by Vijay Antony is decent though the narrative lacks a gripping scene order. While, the songs are passable on screen, the background score is apt to the proceedings.

The photography work by Om Narayan is okay as he captured the mood of the film decently. The editing work by Vijay Antony is not to the mark as numerous unwanted scenes would have been trimmed.

The VFX work is done poorly which can be visible on screen. The dilaouges written by Vijay Antony clicks at parts. The production design work is done adequately as is the case with the production values for this limited budget movie.

Analysis: Firstly, Bichagadu 2 is not a sequel, Standalone film. Director Vijay Antony lack of experience is clearly visible in the presentation part. Title looks apt though. The screenplay is dull and no emotional connect comes as a demerit for the proceedings due to which the entire execution part looks lousy. Anti Bikili idea nice but bad execution literally dilutes the intrest of the audience.

To summarize, Bichagadu 2 is not a proper sequel to the first installment and the title is used to generate buzz for the second installment. Adding to it, the screenplay looks dull and slow-paced without any high moments in the narrative. No proper emotional connectivity also comes as a major defect for the movie. Hardly any interesting scenes in entire film makes the movie a total disappointment.

Verdict: Disappointment to the core!
