Betting App Row: ED Questions Vijay Devarakonda

The illegal betting app scandal has brought several Telugu film celebrities under investigation for promoting these apps without considering the legal risks.

The Hyderabad Enforcement Directorate (ED) has issued notices to many popular stars, asking them to appear for questioning.

Actor Vijay Devarakonda was summoned to the ED office on August 6th. Reports say he was questioned for over two hours about promoting betting apps for money.

Officials asked him to explain his source of income and provide valid proof of transactions related to these promotions. The ED is also reviewing financial records to check for possible money laundering. Vijay’s statements were officially recorded.

Other actors have also been summoned as part of this crackdown. This sudden action by the ED has made celebrities more cautious about promoting unethical or illegal businesses just for financial gain.
