In response to the controversy surrounding nepotism, Avika Gor demonstrated the audience’s bias in favor of the South Asian film industry.
The argument between South and Bollywood has intensified since the Covid epidemic ended. Yes, it has always existed, but recently the discussions have become more serious. In response, actress Avika Gor exposed the audience for having a bias against the South Asian film business and making fun of Bollywood by pointing out how prevalent nepotism is there.
Avika became well-known overnight thanks to her television program, Balika Vadhu. Even as a young artist, she has made appearances in a few Bollywood films. She later made her lead acting debut in the Telugu movie Uyyala Jampala in 2013, and over the years, she has also performed in Kannada films. She is currently preparing to debut as a lead in Hindi with 1920 Horrors Of The Heart.
Avika Gor addressed the pointless controversy surrounding the criticism of nepotism in Bollywood and highlighted the same problem in the South Asian film industry. She said, “When it comes to nepotism, the word that we all are tired of hearing… South is all about nepotism. So cheezein bilkul wahi he (Things are just the same)… it’s just that audiences are not choosing to see it there the way they are seeing it here. Woh ek bias create ho chuka hai for Hindi films, Bollywood films ki ye jo bhi banayenge hum pehle judge karenge.”
Avika further added that, “Ye ek bias create ho chuka hai over the time and I think, and as someone who is a part of the industry, we also understand ki kaafi time woh phase chala jaha pe ki South ki remakes bani bahut sari… so people thought ki hum bas copy karte hain… I think it’s just about that bias.”
According to the actress, the nepotism debate needs to calm down as quickly as possible because it has been overhyped. “Telugu industry mein ye (nepotism) toh ekdum saamne hai. I mean, how are people choosing to not see it? I think logon ne thoda hype kar diya is sab ko…and with time I hope ki social media bhi relax ho jaaye and ye bhi relax ho jaaye,” Avika quoted.
