Comedian Praveen, known for many supporting roles, becomes a hero for the first time in Bakasura Restaurant, directed by Shiva and released on August 8. The film shows if he can succeed as a lead actor.
Bakasura Restaurant Movie Story: Paramesh (Praveen) wants to do something big in life, but because of difficult situations, he ends up working at a job he doesn’t enjoy. He lives with four friends in a small rented house far from the city in Hyderabad.
His dream is to earn Rs. 50 lakhs and open his own restaurant. To reach this goal, he tries many different things and finally gets involved in black magic. The movie shows the problems that come from using black magic and whether or not they succeed in starting the restaurant.
Performances: Praveen, already a proven actor, teamed up with others for good comedy in this film. The young co-actors impressed, while Garuda Ram and Viva Harsha added strong value. Krishna Bhagavan’s comedy role didn’t fully land.
Technical Aspects: Director Shiva handled comedy and emotion well despite technical flaws. He told his story simply and clearly, with good philosophical touches and a setup for a sequel. However, CG, art work, and production quality need improvement. Overall, a decent effort from the team. Music was okay, camera work showed budget limits.
Analysis: Bakasura Restaurant had a good concept and decent casting, but execution issues and budget limitations stopped it from fully connecting with the audience.
Verdict: Bakasura Restaurant has a promising concept and decent performances, but falls short due to weak execution and technical flaws. A passable debut effort, but lacks the polish to leave a strong impact.
Bottom Line: Good idea, poor execution holds back.
