Back To Back Misses: Suriya’s Festive Luck Fades Again

Suriya has been struggling to deliver a big hit in recent years. His last two films turned out to be major flops both critically and financially.

Hoping to bounce back Suriya pinned his hopes on Karuppu a mass commercial entertainer designed to appeal to each and every viewer.

Originally planned as a Diwali release and the film missed its date due to unforeseen reasons. Director RJ Balaji confirmed that while they wanted a festive release but they instead decided to drop a song during Diwali.

Interestingly, this Diwali had no big star Tamil releases, only Dude, Bison, and Diesel hit theaters, none catering to the mass audience.

Had Karuppu released during Diwali it could have easily grabbed strong openings. After missing two festive seasons in a row, fans hope for Suriya’s comeback film soon.
