Baahubali franchise has become the biggest money spinner ever and Baahubali 2 is going great guns since it’s release on 28th April. Til now, the movie has raked in 1538 crores at the global box office and it is all likely to reach 2000 crores mark once it opens at other overseas markets. This SS Rajamouli visual spectacle has reached new heights and brought in a lot of attention to the makers and stars, Rana, Anushka, Ramya Krishnan and a global recognition to star, Prabhas.
The movie has been in race with Dangal, ever since the Aamir starter opened in China and the movie is still going great guns domestically. The movie crossed 15 crores gross in Chennai city only and it is also the second movie after Enthiran to collect a share over 60 crores only in Tamil Nadu. The Hindi version even after 4 weeks is still going strong and the nett box office collections stand at 475.63 crores. Telugu version of the movie, recorded never before collections for a Telugu film with 285 crores gross and the movie could soon breach 200 crores share mark in Telugu states as well. The movie in Karnataka and Malayalam also recorded never before hard off collections and the speed did not dial down completely as the movie is going strong during the weekends and night shows on weekdays. In every area, the movie has been a sensation that no body has ever witnessed.
With such huge success, the movie is also bound to get some film festival love. At the world’s most prestigious Film festival event, Cannes Film festival, Baahubali is being specially screened. The first part and second part both will be screened on the same day back to back. The screening will be attended by producers Shobu Yarlagadda, Devineni Prasad and SS Rajamouli. We still don’t know who among the leads will grace the event.
