Baahubali series is one of the most popular cinema series in India. We are not accustomed to sequels and prequels culture like Hollywood and one of the rarest attempts in telling a story in two parts, is Baahubali. The story has been cut into two long parts and second part became a bigger hit than the first one.
So, the movie got a place in IIM Ahmedabad, Contemporary Film Industry syllabus where people learn about the marketing of the films and how they are made from the scratch. Baahubali series is taken as a case study by the reputed institute recently. Professor, Bharatan Kandaswamy introduced this case study into the syllabus and announced it to media.
He said, ” We are interested in educating youngsters about how sequels are big money spinners in a well-established franchise. Stanford University declared that prequels are much better in comparison to sequels in terms of box office numbers. But we believe sequels have much better opportunity and Baahubali will be the case study for students to learn the marketing techniques.” He also praised SS Rajamouli, Prabhas, Rana and team of Baahubali for dedicating so much time and coming up with new marketing strategies for an effective film campaign.
