In India right now, director SS Rajamouli is a force to be reckoned with. His RRR had a significant impact on the world and even at the Oscars, making history. He is a visionary who brought together the best personalities in Bollywood and the southern film industry to create something the audience will always remember. With Baahubali, the director generated buzz before RRR. The movie’s characters all generated a lot of buzz, but there was a catch. And Sridevi was the catch!
The late actress was a contender to play Sivagami Devi in Baahubali: The Beginning before Ramya Kishan. The latter declined to participate in the movie, and the director evidently did not take the rejection well. The actress was irritated by some comments he made, and she graciously responded to him.
According to a source, SS Rajamouli thanked Sridevi for declining the offer and cited her starry outbursts and high financial expectations as the reasons why she did not accept the role in the movie. His remarks greatly angered the actress and her producer husband, Boney Kapoor. In an interview, the actress expressed shock that Rajamouli would speak in such a manner. Second, I don’t like to put forth any requests. Everything related to Baahubali is now in the past. Why are we discussing it now? I have previously declined a plethora of roles. I believe discussing films you don’t do is very rude.
Later, SS Rajamouli also expressed his sorrow for his remarks. He remarked, “I guess it’s up to the people to determine which version to trust. However, one thing is certain. I shouldn’t have talked about the specifics on a public forum. That is incorrect. And I’m sorry. It is said that the matter was progressively settled, and he and Sridevi were to work on a movie with Mohanlal.
But certainly, nothing of the sort did occur. Following Sridevi’s passing in 2018, the director produced one of the most well-liked films of 2022, starring Prabhas and JR NTR.
