Siva Karthikeyan‘s Pongal release, ‘Ayalaan,’ has emerged as the Kollywood Box Office Winner, surpassing competitors ‘Captain Miller’ and ‘Mission.’ Despite a slow start, Ayalaan gained momentum and eventually outperformed other films. Captain Miller initially led in collections on the opening day but saw Ayalaan catching up and maintaining a similar trend.
Over the past two days, Ayalaan has even surpassed Dhanush‘s periodic action thriller, holding more than double the collections of Captain Miller. The film’s success is attributed to its prolonged production due to extensive CG works, coupled with Siva Karthikeyan’s strong appeal to family-oriented audiences.
Ayalaan’s storyline revolves around an alien and a nature lover teaming up to prevent the destruction of the city by an industrialist’s evil project. Directed by Ravikumar, the movie boasts an impressive cast including Rakul Preet Singh, Sharad Kelkar, Isha Koppikar, Bhanu Priya, and Yogi Babu.
Produced by Kotapadi J Rajesh under the banners of 24 AM Studios and PhantomFX Studios, Ayalaan is expected to continue its success at the box office beyond the opening weekend, while Captain Miller is anticipated to face challenges in sustaining its performance.
