Directed by Vidyasagar Chinta, Vishwak Sen, Rukshar Dhillon and Ritika Nayak starrer Ashoka Vanamlo Arjuna Kalyanam has hit the screens today. Let’s check how it fares.

Story:

A bachelor named Arjun( Vishwak Sen) from Suryapet lands in a small village in the Godavari region to get engaged to Madhavi( Rukshar Dhillon). Soon after the engagement ceremony, Arjun and his family will be struck in the bride’s village due to the Covid lockdown. How will Arjun’s family adjust at Madhavi’s home? What kind of unexpected events will Arjun come across, forms the crucial crux of the film.

Performances:

As a guy from a small town, Vishwak Sen did his part quite convincingly. His boy-next-door looks and makeover with a clean shave and neatly combed hairstyle are good and add a fresh vibe to the narrative.

Heroine Rukshar Dhillon is adorable on screen and did her cameo role decently. On the other hand, a new girl named Ritika Nayak did her purposeful role in an impressive manner. Her appearance and facial expressions in the crucial second half are a major plus for the film. Ritika Nayak’s chemistry with Vishwak Sen has been showcased nicely in a few episodes in the second half.

Other character artists who did key roles perfectly fit in the respective roles.

Technicalities:

The music by Jay Krish is one of the plus points for the film as his background and all the situational songs carry the mood of the film nicely.

The cinematography by Pavi K Pavan is superb as he showcased the entire film in a beautiful manner. Editing by Viplav Nyshadam is fine as he kept the runtime within the limits.
Production values for his limited budget movie are okay.

Analysis:

Director Vidyasagar Chinta’s basic idea of making a film based on the marriage problems of a 33-years-old guy is good and presented the second half proceedings on a decent note. But he would have focused on writing the first half of episodes in an even more gripping way.

Adding to the flat moments in the first half, the director completely ignored in giving detailing about hurdles the hero faces from society due to late marriage. Instead, he would have focused on establishing the hardships in the hero’s life with comedy coated narration for a better output.

To summerize, Ashoka Vanamlo Arjuna Kalyanam is a rom-com family drama that has a few engaging moments in the second half. On the flip side, dull proceedings and dry conversations in the first half will surely dilute the audience’s mood.

Verdict: Only for a few moments!

Rating: 2.25/5
