As Rajni couldn’t do it, Nag is preferred

Dhanush is coming up with his second directorial after Pa Paandi in Tamil. He wanted to make a huge film with Rs.100 crores budget but that was when Rajnikanth was supposed to play an extended cameo in the film. Dhanush himself will be playing the lead role and Rajni has no dates available for the movie as he already started working on Petta.

So, Dhanush approached Nagarjuna for this crucial role that will be in the movie for more than 30 minutes and it is extremely powerful too. Dhanush in an interview said,” I planned the special role with Rajnikanth sir in mind. As he is busy with Petta and wants to concentrate on politics, I decided to revise the budget.

At first, we planned for a budget of Rs.100 crores but we reduced it to Rs. 70 crores and then, I looked at my options about who is known for both Telugu and Tamil for the budget recovery and replace Rajni. So, I went to Nagarjuna sir and he accepted the role after hearing the script. He will soon join the shoot.” The movie shooting started in Madurai and Nag will join after he completes Devadas promotions. He will also join Brahmastra team for the second schedule for his role in October.
