Arya’s Captain extended first weekend collections

Kollywood hero Arya’s sci-fi drama, Captain under the direction of Shakti Soundar Rajan had a simultaneous release in Telugu along with Tamil on September 8th. Opened to poor word of mouth, the film minted only Rs 0.82 crore share from the extended first weekend in Telugu. Below is area-wise break up data.

As per the reports, hero Nithiin’s father Sudhakar Reddy acquired the theatrical rights of Captain for Rs 1.61 crore and the film should collect Rs 1.8 crore to achieve break-even status. As the film struggled to generate good revenues during the first weekend, it is clear that the film is going to end up as a loss venture at the box office.
