The magistrate court on Friday denied the interim bail, that has been applied for Aryan Khan, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s son, in the drugs case that has been filed on him by the NCB, after he was found partying on a cruise ship, and has been alleged to be under the influence of drugs. The NCB opposed the granting of bail, on the grounds that Aryan Khan is an influential person and may tamper with evidence.
Thus, the bail pleas of Aryan Khan, Arbaaz Merchant and Munmun Dhamecha were rejected. They will now have to apply for bail before the special NDPS court. Lawyer Satish Manshinde, who argued on behalf of Aryan Khan, said that it’s not fair to reject the bail of Aryan Khan simply because he comes from an affluent family, and further questioned what evidences he had manipulated in the case.
On the other hand, on Thursday, the NCB’s appeal to take further custody of Aryan Khan and seven others in the case was rejected, with the court saying that this would be a violation of their fundamental rights. Additional Metropolitan Magistrate RM Nerlikar sent the eight to 14-day judicial custody instead.
