Arshad Warsi talked candidly in a recent interview about the first time he went to see Jaya Bachchan.

The actor, however, recently opened out in an interview about his early career before entering the profession and recalled an event when he went to visit Jaya Bachchan. Returning to the interview, Arshad Warsi discussed his first encounter with Jaya Bachchan. Warsi said to Humans Of Bombay that he had already spoken to the production company after receiving an offer to star in a film from director Joy Augustine, whose film is supported by Amitabh Bachchan’s company. He only had to send his photos.
The actor said, “I said, ‘Dude I can’t act, don’t do this to me!'” Arshad Warsi You run into folks who came here to shoot a movie but didn’t get the job done, and everyone knows it! People would say things like, “Poor guy came from his village to become a hero, he couldn’t,” as they would be walking down the street. Watch him as he rides in a bus right now. I wished to avoid being that person.
After that, Jaya Bachchan called Arshad to arrange a meeting. When asked about the incident, the actor said, “I feared she was going to fire me! I had the thinking, “Why not, Amitabh Bachchan ki biwi hai, let’s get fired by Jaya Bachchan!” It will be a story in my life, Inke muh se do-chaar gaaliya achchi lagegi. I went there believing I would be fired, but she continued asking me whether I spoke Hindi, and I kept responding in English that I did, despite my anxiety. You’re doing the film, she continued. I died! I declared that everything was finished.
When Arshad Warsi questioned Jaya about her decision to cast him years later, the seasoned actress replied that it was his range of expressions in those 36 images that won her over.
