Are senior directors trying too hard?

Every field, even the creative field, has some limitations as human brain and body does. We cannot keep the energy levels at the same rate as we used to once and even our thoughts don’t always have same vigour like they used to when we were young after reaching an age. But with age, we tend to develop an ego and even the habit of working forever and ever. Suddenly, when you have to slow down, you feel like world is all against you. Still, truth doesn’t consider any such emotions or factors.

So, senior directors who once created huge blockbusters and wrote the best characters, also seem to be facing the old age problems. Ram Gopal Verma, Vamsy, Krishna Vamsi, Puri Jagannadh and V.V. Vinayak seem to have grown too old for latest generation. Their films have been getting lowest collections at box office and even creatively, they are rehashing old ideas and that is no longer igniting similar response from crowds.

Even super senior like Raghavendra Rao, is finding it difficult to retire as he is still making one or other film, however rarely, it might be. Well, producer and director, Madhura Sreedhar feels there is a need for young talent to get more encouragement as the senior directors have evidently lost their touch. He said, “There is a need for young talent to flourish in Telugu Film Industry and many should be encouraged. I think seniors had their turn and it is time for juniors to shine.”
