We cannot sure about the intentions of the people whom we don’t know. But the filmmakers seem to fix to a pattern, which is later called as a trend with a sea of films that are similar, coming our way. This is biopic season with many Indian filmmakers looking to do films on famous personalities. Mainly, few biopics of great political leaders are coming out this time. Accidental Prime Minister about Manmohan Singh, NTR biopic, YSR biopic- Yatra and another one about Bal Thackeray are under production with stalwarts as the cast.

In YSR biopic, Mammootty is playing the role of YSR and there is a talk that YS Jagan will join him as YS Jagan. The movie will be made in three languages and it has started shooting. Mahi V. Raghav, the director of Yatra said, “We don’t believe that an election outcome depends on films. Films have an emotional connection but that doesn’t mean that they will force-change a man who made up his mind. We cannot deny some impact but the release is purely coincidental.”

Teja, who is making NTR biopic, said “We have no intentions to create any mileage for TDP. Even though Balakrishna is an active member of the party, he doesn’t want to let the party take any decisions on the film. The film will be a straightforward narrative about NTR. He is not just a party leader but a big influencer for many young actors to become a legend like him. So, using it for any kind of election mileage will be a sad thing. We are genuinely trying to make a true story and that is it.” Both the film could release before January 2019, which is the final date for any kind of political impact creating films can be released.
