AR Rahman‘s wife, Saira Banu, has decided to separate from him after nearly 30 years of marriage. Saira’s lawyer, Vandana Shah, shared an official statement about their decision.
Rahman and Saira got married in 1995 and they have three children Khatija, Ameen, and Raheema.
The statement explained that Saira made this tough decision due to emotional challenges in their relationship. Although they care deeply for each other, the difficulties between them have grown too big to overcome.
Saira mentioned that this choice comes from a place of pain and requests privacy and understanding during this hard time.
Their marriage was arranged by Rahman’s mother and now they are separated.
