It is already known that a sizeable delegation from Tollywood has met with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy today, including Mahesh Babu, Prabhas, Chiranjeevi, Koratala Siva, Rajamouli and R Narayana Murthy. They have discussed many aspects regarding Tollywood, and the relationship between the industry and the AP government, the key point being the ticket prices in the state.
Chiranjeevi has already spoken to the media after the meeting and said that the outcome of the meeting has been very positive. While it is known that the AP government has agreed to increase the price of tickets, some other key decisions have also reportedly been taken by the AP government. These include:
1. The AP government has allowed theatres to showcase a 5th show in case of small films, to help these films do better business
2. A special committee has been appointed to look into what sort of discounts could be given for big-budget films
3. A promise of the development of the film industry in Visakhapatnam, with studios to be built and more encouragement in the area.
The above are the key decisions that the AP government has reportedly taken, apart from agreeing to increase the price of movie tickets.
