It is well-known that the theatrical release of films such Love Story, Tuck Jagadish, Paagal, Most Eligible Bachelor, SR Kalyanamandapam which are scheduled to hit the screens in April, May and June are postponed due to the Covid crisis. After Pawan Kalyan’s Vakeel Saab none of the noted films hit the screens from mid-April due to the pandemic lockdown in twin Telugu states.
Later, in the month of June, the Telangana government has lifted complete lockdown restrictions and gave permission for the screening of movies with 100% occupancy. A couple of weeks later, the Andhra Pradesh government has also given permission for the reopening of the theatres with 50% occupancy. Now, following all the Covid-19 guidelines the above-mentioned movies are gearing up for a theatrical release from this month end.
Meanwhile, yesterday a GO was released by the AP state government stating that the ‘Ticket Pricing’ GO which was released during the release of Vakeel Saab was modified with normal ticket rates in all areas. As per the trade reports, with the new GO on the ticket prices, the filmmakers are keen on releasing their respective films one after the another.
As of now, SR Kalyanamandapam is locked for a release on August 6th and the makers of Love Story and Tuck Jagadish, Most Eligible Bachelor, Paagal are planning to release the films on July 30th, August 13th, 20th and 27th respectively. However, we have to wait and see for an official confirmation from the makers on it.
