It is widely known that the Andhra Pradesh government led by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy seized almost 150 single screens across the state for not maintaining the government norms a couple of days back. Meanwhile, the latest news is that the government gave permission to 80 plus theatres to resume operations with a condition to complete the licence renewal work within next four weeks.
But twist in the tale is that most of theatres including the Asian biggest screen V Eqip in Sullurupeta were voluntarily closed a few days back as they are unhappy with the new ticket pricing GO brought by the government. As per the trade reports, all the single screens which are shut down currently will be resuming the operations from January 7th with SS Rajamouli’s RRR.
On the other hand, there is update on the ticket hiking topic from the state government, to date. We have to wait see for a few more days to get a clarity on the ticket prices issue in AP.
