Bhanumathi Ramakrishna is one of the great legends of Telugu Cinema. She acted in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi languages. She debuted in 1940’s and continued to act in the films till, 1991. She acted with Rajendra Prasad in Bamma Maata Bangaru Baata, the last big hit of her career. She acted in Mangammagari Manavadu again as Bamma, before that she acted as heroine of ANR, NTR in many films and she even acted with Chittoor Nagayya as a lead.
Now, her character is being played by Anushka Shetty in the biopic, based on life of Savitri, another legendary actress. As per the reports from the various media sources, Anushka has accepted the role and even shot for few days it seems. There are many such rumours spreading out right from the first announcement of the movie, Mahanati.
As off now, Samantha Akkineni, Keerthi Suresh, Shalini Pandey and Dulquer Salmaan are definitely acting in the film. In a guest role, Mohan Babu acted as SV Ranga Rao in the film. Is the character of Bhanumathi is required in the movie or not, we do not know yet. We have to wait and see, what the director, Naga Ashwin as planned for us once the movie releases on 29th of March.
