Anurag Kashyap Slams Netflix For Ghosting His Dream Project

Anurag Kashyap recently shared his disappointment with Netflix over a failed project that deeply affected him both emotionally and physically.

He was working on a web series based on Suketu Mehta’s book Maximum City a project he had been connected to for over 21 years. After spending a year and a half writing a 900-page handwritten script, Netflix suddenly stopped responding without giving any reason.

Anurag said this treatment broke him, especially after putting in so much effort. “Someone just ignored all that hard work to save their job,” he said, adding that Netflix never even informed him directly about dropping the project.

He called out Netflix India for not understanding creators and accused them of producing low quality content just like bad TV shows from the past.

He also criticized Netflix’s global team, saying they blindly trust what Netflix India tells them, and that’s harming their reputation in the country.
