Anupam Kher, a seasoned actor, recently travelled to Kanpur and was photographed praying at the Panki Hanuman Temple for his show 21 Hanuman Temples.
Anupam Kher, a seasoned actor, enjoys learning more about history and the several Gods of Santan Dharma. The actor recently travelled to Ayodhya, and then he went to Kanpur to study the big temple’s history in his mythical documentary series, “21 Hanuman Temples.”
The ‘The Kashmir Files’ actor shared a video to his Instagram account asking, “Do you know why we worship Lord Hanuman in the form of Panchmukhi? Today, we’ll discuss about the Panchmukhi Temple in Bajranbali, which dates back more than a thousand years. You can worship the powerful Lord Hanuman at this place in all his glory.
He added: “This temple also has the blessings of Lady Sita as she considered Panchkuli Hanuman akin to her own son while Lord Hanuman was her staunch devotee.”
He continued: “It is said that the great Gangadas ji wanted to take the current Hanuman statue at Panki from Chitrakoot to Bithoor, though Lord Hanuman is said to have appeared in the dreams of Gangadas urging him to keep the idol in what is currently Panki. Honouring his wishes, Gangadas put the idol in Panki and abandoned his original objective.”
He captioned the post: “Today, in our latest episode of 21 Hanuman Temples we will talk about the Panki Hanuman Temple in Kanpur. Hear from me the great history of this legendary monument, the sacred and holiness of this temple and its great importance.”
He concluded the post with: “@anupamkherstud1 @priyagupta999 #21HanumanTemples With Anupam Kher || Panki Hanuman Temple – Kanpur!”
A priest then gave the history of the temple while stating that Lord Hanuman has even more temples than Lord Ram. The documentary then turned to pictures of many devotees entering the shrine and lowering their heads.
The ‘Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge’ actor most recently made an appearance in a special role as Cabinet Secretary in the bio-science film ‘The Vaccine War,’ directed by Vivek Agnihotri. The film garnered a somewhat muted reception at the box office as it competed with ‘Fukrey 3’ for audience attention.
