Actress Anu Emmanuel, known for her glamorous roles in Telugu and Tamil films has taken a refreshing turn with The Girlfriend, directed by Rahul Ravindran.
In the film, she plays Durga a strong and supportive woman who stands by Rashmika’s character. The movie is currently running in theaters.
Speaking about her journey Anu said, “I’ve worked with top stars, but I regret doing a few films that didn’t give me artistic satisfaction. The Girlfriend was special, it had a meaningful message about women and gave me creative joy”.
Sharing her thoughts on gender pressure, she said, “Women are constantly told how to speak, dress and live, while men mostly face work pressure”.
Reflecting on her career, Anu admitted feeling slightly unfulfilled but added, “I’m content and trust that the right roles will find me”.
