Anirudh’s First Collaboration With Vetrimaaran

STR 49, directed by Vetrimaaran and starring Simbu, is one of the most awaited Tamil films. Though not a sequel, the story unfolds in the Vada Chennai universe, making it Vetrimaaran’s first cinematic universe.

A short glimpse was released on September 4, marking Vetrimaaran’s 50th birthday. Producer Kalaippuli S Thanu confirmed that the full promo will be unveiled on October 4.

Alongside this, speculation is high about the film’s music. While Vetrimaaran has previously worked with GV Prakash, Santhosh Narayanan and Ilaiyaraaja, reports now suggest that Anirudh may compose the music.

If confirmed this will be Anirudh’s first project with both Vetrimaaran and Simbu despite his long friendship with the actor.
