Ram hasn’t had a single box-office hit after the pandemic. Even though he’s been doing back-to-back movies, none turned into a commercial success. That’s why he changed his approach and is presenting himself in a fresh, fan-friendly way. Now, everyone is waiting to see whether this new film gives Ram the hit he needs.
Andhra King Taluka Story: Andhra King Surya (Upendra) is a huge star in Andhra, known by everyone. After acting in 99 films, a series of 10 flops affects his career, and his big 100th movie stops due to lack of money. When he feels helpless, Surya is shocked to learn that a regular fan has sent him 3 crores to save the film. The fan is Sagar (Ram). Surya sets out to meet him and discovers Sagar’s tough life. How did a man who can’t afford four tickets give 3 crores? That mystery unfolds in Andhra King Taluka.
Performances: Ram looked completely different from his usual image, in looks, mannerisms, and slang. This fresh change became the film’s biggest strength. You only see Sagar in the film, not Ram. The movie proves how important it is for heroes to break their regular image. As an actor, Ram delivered emotions beautifully.
Upendra’s dubbing felt a bit odd, but the role suited his real-life personality. Rao Ramesh once again proved his brilliance with his expressive eyes. Bhagyashri was good, though her look didn’t match the Godavari backdrop. Murali Sharma and the supporting cast performed well.
Technical Aspects: The music directors Vivek–Mervin made the film feel fresh with new sounds and pleasant melodies. Their background score in the climax, especially during the Ram–Upendra scene, added magic and made it truly memorable. Siddharth–George’s cinematography is good, with perfect colour tones and lighting to match the 2000s period. The costumes and art team also did great work, making every look and location appear natural.
Director Mahesh Babu P tried to present a new point in a new way, which works well. However, some scenes feel too long, and a tighter cut would have improved the emotional impact.
Analysis: Despite a few illogical scenes, Andhra King Taluka works well because it shows fan emotions purely and honestly. Ram’s new look, Vivek–Mervin’s fresh music, and director Mahesh Babu’s clean, controlled storytelling make the film enjoyable in theatres. After the pandemic, this movie finally gave Ram a good hit.
Verdict: Andhra King Taluka is a fresh, engaging entertainer with Ram’s standout performance, catchy music, and solid direction. Minor flaws exist, but fan emotions shine more.
Bottom Line: Ram’s charm makes film worth watching.
Rating: 3/5
