Bollywood often struggles to present South Indian culture correctly on screen. The recent Hindi film Param Sundari has also been criticised for its portrayal of Kerala lifestyle.
Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor play the lead roles in the film.
Ananthika Sanilkumar recently shared her views and said some scenes felt like an insult to Kerala culture.
She expected the film to be good but felt several cultural details were shown incorrectly. She pointed out how food was served in one scene and said it was not something commonly seen in Kerala.
Ananthika also felt Janhvi’s character was shown in an exaggerated way in the name of representing Kerala culture. Ananthika has acted in Telugu films including MAD, 8 Vasantalu and Romanchakam.
