Ram Gopal Varma is one of the most successful directors in the Indian film industry, who was also one of the first directors to make his foray into Bollywood from the South. However, his genius in filmmaking was trumped by his infamous and controversial personality in the recent past. While RGV continues to be controversial to this day, the director, nevertheless, is also making headlines with his interesting comments on Twitter, which are universally being praised.
Recently, RGV made an interesting analogy, where he talked about the success of South films in Bollywood, wars being waged on the basis of language barriers, and how the dubbed versions of Hindi movies previously turned out to be hugely successful in the South. He even talked about the continuing success of the dubbed versions of Hollywood films in India.
RGV said that instead of lamenting the success of South films and actors in the North, Bollywood actors and filmmakers should dub their films in South languages. He also said that the success of South films talks a lot about how audiences appreciate films with good content, rather than the route that Bollywood films are opting for.
